Mark your calendars (or subscribe to the pack calendar) for the 2012 Pinewood Derby on March 10 at 5:00 pm at Meadow.
For those of you new to the Derby, here’s a pdf of the Pinewood Derby Rules.
There will be a Pinewood derby clinic a couple of weeks before the main event (we’ll post a date and time soon).
The council has a few events coming up; Bowling Days on Sunday Nov. 13th and the 54th Jamboree on the Air on Oct. 15 & 16. Bowling days is for cubscouts while JOTA is for all scouts. JOTA is an event where scouts use amature radio to talk with Scouts all around the world.

scouts who attend JOTA can fulfill these requirements:
Tiger – Req. 4G – visit a radio station
Wolf – Req. 10E, Elective 1A
Bear – Req. 8B, Req. 17C
Webelos – Citizen Req. 17, Communicator Req. 4,7,13

Bring: your car or car kit and get help with finishing. Get it weighed. Get the wheels checked. Test it on the track! This is a Very Fun event for the Boy scouts and the Cub scouts every year.
This year’s special event will be a stay at the San Francisco Bay Aquarium. The boys will be able to earn specific achievements as well as sleep in one of the tunnels with fish swimming overhead!
Here is the basic info:
Date: Friday,April 8
Times: 7:30 pm – 8:30 am
Food: Snack in the evening, breakfast in the morning
Cost: $60 per person

Cub and Boy Scouts will explore nature and the environment through the eyes of the Peanuts characters and through a variety of fun, hands-on activities in support of the Tracking Merit Badge and Nature Belt Loop. Also enjoy ice skating at Snoopy’s Home Ice and receive a special Schulz Museum patch!
